About Islam
A comprehensive introduction to the faith of over 1.8 billion people worldwide
What is Islam?
Islam is a monotheistic faith centered on the worship of One God (Allah). The word "Islam" means "submission" or "surrender" to the will of Allah, and a person who practices Islam is called a Muslim, meaning "one who submits to God."
Islam teaches that there is only one God who created the universe and everything in it. Muslims believe that Allah sent prophets and messengers throughout history to guide humanity, with the final messenger being Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (peace be upon him).
Islam is not just a religion but a complete way of life, providing guidance on spiritual, moral, social, and personal matters. It emphasizes peace, justice, compassion, and the dignity of all human beings.
Who is Allah?
Allah is the Arabic word for God. Muslims believe that Allah is the One and Only God, the Creator and Sustainer of all that exists. He has no partners, no equals, and no offspring.

"Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent."
